Between Joyce and my dad, I've pieced most of this together. My parents met at a 'dance' in Cedar Rapids. When I was little I never thought anything of them meeting at a 'dance'. They lived in the olden days and they had 'dances' all the time right? Barn dances and hoe downs I thought. It wasn't until I was older and started questioning that that the whole family busted out laughing that I had finally figured out they met at a bar. Their first time everyone met dad was at Joyce and Dick's wedding May of 1968. They were married 6 months later on October 19th, 1968 at St Patrick's church. Dad was the 'city boy' to the Kings and the Divine's adored mom. Grandma Divine told me many times how thrilled they were when Billy found her. They did think the wedding was strange out on a farm but Grandma said it was one of the most fun weddings she had ever been to. We Kings know how to throw a wedding.

| My mother is a lot like me (or I should say I'm a lot like her). The anti-hoarder- get rid of it, get rid of it, get rid of it. She found true joy in cleaning out pantrys and closets- so do I. However, I would just die if she still had her wedding dress- I LOVE it |
